Majority of Canadians not confident in Canada's security services

Nathan Cirillo reacts while following pallbearers carrying his casket from a funeral home in OttawaCanadians now rank terrorism as the world's most serious threat, according to a new poll released by Angus Reid, on Friday.  The survey — conducted the same week as the deadly attacks in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Ottawa — has 50 per cent of Canadians ranking terrorism and ISIS over other international concerns such as the Ebola outbreak, Russian aggression, climate change and the global economy. Another interesting finding of the survey is that the majority of Canadians don't have a lot of confidence in the RCMP, CSIS or local police "to prevent homegrown radicals from carrying out terrorist attacks in Canada."


Residents of Alberta city come together to clean up vandalized mosque

Graffiti covers the front of the Cold Lake Mosque, near a large Canadian air force base where CF-18 fighter jets recently departed for IraqCOLD LAKE, Alta. - People in a small northeastern Alberta city came together Friday to help clean up a mosque that had its windows broken and "Go home" painted across the front wall.


Highway 63 crash kills Edmonton teenager

An Edmonton teenager was killed on Highway 63 after his SUV slammed into a semi truck heading in the other direction Friday morning. Police say the 18-year-old`s vehicle was just south of Wandering River when it crossed the centre line and hit the tractor trailer. The crash is the second fatality this week along that stretch of highway 63, nicknamed "the Highway of Death." A motorcyclist was killed Sunday in the same area in a collision with a camper trailer.
