Queen's U. investigates claim that health studies prof teaches anti-vaccine info

Demand For Measles Vaccine Increases As Outbreak Started At Disneyland In California SpreadsOfficials at Queen's University launched an investigation Wednesday into claims that a health sciences instructor has been teaching anti-vaccination materials in a first-year level course. The allegation was raised on Twitter by a current student and a former student of the Kingston, Ont.-based university, who posted images of PowerPoint slides that were purportedly used in the class Health 102. Melody Torcolacci, an adjunct professor, did not respond to interview requests from The Canadian Press. Queen's principal Daniel Woolf took to Twitter to say he's asked the university's provost, Alan Harrison, to investigate the allegation.


B.C. soccer coach suspended after arrest in U.S. for seeking sex with girl

A soccer club in Surrey, B.C., has suspended a coach arrested in the United States for allegedly seeking sex with a 12-year-old girl who turned out to be an undercover agent. The U.S. Attorney's Office said 47-year-old Kuldip (KUL'-deep) Mahal was arrested on Tuesday after he went to a park in Bellevue, Wash., to meet the supposed girl. Surrey United Soccer Club president Tom Duncan says in a statement that Mahal has been suspended as a coach until further notice.
