Riot police deployed to Remand Centre amidst strike, says source

Corrections officers scheduled for the afternoon shift have walked out of the centre in response to the suspension of two union executives.A source tells CBC that the RCMP riot team has now been deployed to the Remand Centre, where corrections officers are involved in a wildcat strike. More than eight hours have passed since 70 scheduled guards walked out of the facility.
